Welcome to the North Vancouver District Public Library's learning 2.0 program. Learning 2.0 is an online learning program that encourages staff to discover more about emerging technologies on the web that are changing the way people, society and libraries access information and communicate with each other.
We've modelled this program on Helene Blower's learning 2.0 program at the Public Library of Charlotte and Mecklenburg County. Much of our content has been directly borrowed, with permission, from the original, so you're right to suspect that the voice on these podcasts does not belong to one of our own staff members.
You may also notice that the podcasts refer to 23 things, or might seem to be out of order. That's because we've edited the program to make it our own. We're also giving you more time to complete your explorations.
Over the course of the next year, this website will highlight “24 Things” and discovery exercises to help staff become familiar with blogging, RSS news feeds, tagging, wikis, podcasting, online applications, and video and image hosting sites.
To familiarize yourself with this project, be sure to listen to the podcast, and read the About page. The FAQs should answer most of your questions about this program. If not, then please add your question to the FAQ page as a comment.
